Tucson, Arizona - Downtown Revitalization

Downtown Tucson, Arizona has been undergoing a decade-plus revitalization. It's looking great, and a fun place to live, to work, and to hang out and recreate. 

Business revitalization has been key in the downtown Tucson transformation.  New hotels have come in, new restaurants, and new shops and hang-outs.  The streetcar runs directly through the city from the near west side to the near east side.  And, more housing has been built.  It's bustling in downtown Tucson.

Fox Tucson Theatre Entertains

The Fox Tucson Theatre opened in 1930!  It's been a source of entertainment in downtown Tucson, Arizona for almost 100 years!  When it opened, the downtown streets were closed and a huge street party was thrown.  The theatre closed in 1974 due to competition from other theatres and movie houses scattered throughout the town. In the late 1990s, however, following a two-year negotiation process, the non-profit Fox Tucson Theatre Foundation was able to purchase the building in 1999 for $250,000.  Further rehabilitation occurred over the next 6 years due to the theatre's tireless director to the tune of over $14M.

Rialto Theatre Tucson Provides Excellent Live Entertainment

Established in 1920, The Rialto has been entertaining Tucson residents and guests for over 100 years!  

Located in the heart of downtown Tucson, the Rialto is a classic.  There's currently a streetcar shuttle so one can park a bit out of the city for convenience and take the streetcar right to The Rialto.

State of Arizona offers mortgage assistance to low-income homeowners

The state of Arizona is making an effort to assist low-income homeowners who are having difficulty paying their mortgage.

The Arizona Department of Housing has allocated $197 million in funding to homeowners who meet the minimum threshold. The funding, which comes from the Homeowner Assistance Fund is to be distributed immediately.

Single Family Home Volume Set To Skyrocket In Tucson

Pima Community College apartments purchased for $33 million

An apartment complex situated right next to Pima Community College has been sold for a little over $33 million.

The Ledges at West Campus, consisting of over 200 units, is now the property of Tara Investment Group, a national real estate company. Tara Investment Group had been longing to get their foot into the Tucson market, and they believe that The Ledges At West Campus was the ideal opportunity to do so.

La Encantada Mall purchased for $165 million

JLL Capital Markets has completed an enormous deal that will see its client, Macerich Company, take possession of a popular open-air mall in Tucson.

La Encantada, a completely open lifestyle center consisting of 246,256 square feet of real estate, has been sold for $165.25 million to a band of local Tucson investors. The sale was engineered- and closed- by the efforts of Managing Director Patrick Dempsey.

Long Realty sells most expensive property since 2007

Long Realty Company has just struck a deal that's netted them the most money of any single home in the Tucson area in fourteen years.

A property just northwest of the Sabino Canyon recreation area that spans approximately eleven thousand square feet has been sold for roughly $4 million. Among the property's luscious features: seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and an enormous pool. According to Inside Tucson Business, the pool itself was worth a million dollars, or a quarter of the property's total value.
